Your commentary on ‘AI, the Idiot Ant Queen’ is really interesting. It reminds of a similar argument I saw in Abeba Birhane’s thesis, which is that AI actually in the end leads to stagnation. Oh interesting! Thanks for sharing that -- I did respond to your post directly. Not sure I share the idea that ML models are solely predictive engines though, but I can see how if they are _used_ that way they will absolutely damn us all.
