Reader Poll: Privacy Nihilism
I had my thoughts, but I'm curious about what you think. Why are we so nihilistic about privacy?

Last week, I wrote what I hope to be the first in a series of pieces on privacy nihilism:
I think this is a big (and growing) problem, and one issue is the law. But that’s not the _only_ reason.
What’s privacy nihilism? Essentially, people have resigned themselves to surveillance, tracking, a loss of control/autonomy, and the implicit assumption that there's nothing that can be done about encroachments on our lives by big tech, data brokers, governments and other ne’r-do-wells.
But I’m curious about what others think. Why do you think so many people have given up on privacy and data protection? Why is this nihilism so prevalent? Or am I hyperventilating over nothing?
